Looking back on the Moldova ICT Summit: EdTech Edition – event that took place on April 23 in 2018 at Tekwill.
„The Future of Digital
” is the 10 th Edition 2021 of the Moldova ICT Summit.
The last edition of the summit was focused on education and human capital growth, as their development are essential for Moldova. A project named Twenty-Two focused on the developing of the quality education in schools had been presented during the Summit of 2018. Later, the project was turned into Tekwill in Every School Project (TIFS) and in the same context is aimed to prepare the children and youth of Moldova for professional success.
„Every fourth child should have access to quality digital education”, said Ana Chirita, Strategic Project Director ATIC convinced in the project`s success.
Moldova is still facing a big shortage of skilled labor force to address the market needs in the field of ICT. Thus, the successful projects Information and Communication Technology Excellence Center (TEKWILL) implemented by ATIC continue to contribute to the development of the future of the country, to meet the industry demand. In present TEKWILL’s goal is to contribute to the extension of the project as a sustainable network and deploy its programs on a regional level. The main expected outcomes of the project are the best qualified skills and workforce developed leading to a stronger ICT industry in Moldova.”
The last ICT Summit was organized by Moldovan Association of ICT Companies (ATIC), in partnership with Government of Moldova, USAID Moldova, Government of Sweden, and Moldovan Investment and Export Promotion Organization (MIEPO) and had been hosted by TEKWILL with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID Moldova) and the Government of Sweden.
The EdTech Edition of the ICT Summit 2018 was attended by local and international Government Stakeholders, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Pavel Filip, by Signe Burgstaller the Swedish Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, James D. Pettit the USA Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova and ICT relevant associations, leading ICT companies and professionals, experts, and Academia representatives, Technical University of Moldova, German Development Cooperation (GIZ Moldova), Competitiveness Project from Moldova (MCP).
