Tekwill in Balti

The Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer in Balti, housed by the Balti State University, is expected to open in September 2021 and will serve as an innovation and economic accelerator for the northern region of the country, providing students and young professionals access to laboratories, training rooms, co-working areas, and business offices for startups in ICT, automotive, fashion manufacturing, and other regional industries.

As part of the regional expansion, Tekwill has subcontracted a design company for the future Balti Center to align with project objectives, developed a Memorandum of Understanding to be signed with Balti part of the 2021 action plan, developed a roadmap of activities for regional development, as well as piloted Tekwill Academy and Tekwill Academy Kids courses as further described in the Regional Expansion compartment.

While the physical infrastructure is provided and financed from the sources of the National Fund for Regional Development (FNDR) and implemented by ADR Nord, Tekwill committed to develop interior design setup against the need for its programs to be deployed. Tekwill project planned for endowment and planned finishing works to turn the space into Tekwill driven one. The value of the investments planned for the Center for Innovations and Tech Transfer, financed from USAID and Sweden sources, amounting to $500,000, are allocated for Center’s endowment and planned finishing works. 

Therefore, Tekwill is working with Dumitru Carbuni, Director of Design Laboratory company, selected through a Public Call to provide Design services for Tekwill project’s network and Tekwill-type Centers across Moldova. The designer supported the team in the selection of the spaces, development of the design guidelines, developed interior setup, developed furniture concepts, while the team and technical manager were to review the planned list of the necessary equipment and endowment.
