TEKWILL PROJECT IS LOOKING FOR SOLUTIONS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF E-COMMERCE

The COVID-19 pandemic has produced unprecedented effects on the Moldovan business environment. Almost all sectors of the traditional economy have suffered significantly, largely due to restrictive measures imposed globally, which have led to a massive decline in business revenues.

In the event of an unprecedented crisis, the business community had to identify emergency solutions to continue the activity of companies and e-commerce proved to be the only short-term alternative. In the conditions of changing the rules of the game, in the long run a new strategic business approach is needed.

Call for companies to identify solutions

Supporting the development of the IT industry and offering constant expertise for the last 5 years, Tekwill considers that information technologies are the key to the future remodeling of the business environment. In this regard, the project launched an appeal to companies in the IT industry, which can submit the requiredinformation and obtain funding for IT solutions or projects (existing, developing, new concepts) designed to stimulate e-commerce in Moldova. The proposed projects should address a critical issue targeting online commerce in Moldova and be able to cover several sectors: government, e-commerce markets, logistics companies, financial institutions, information technologies, etc. The proposed solutions should also be implemented in line with Tekwill’s vision for e-commerce with an emphasis on the technological component. The initiatives will benefit from financial support according to the co-financing model.

The Tekwill project – The revolution begins!

The Tekwill project is implemented by the National Association of ICT Companies, with the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development and Sweden. “Tekwill” was created in 2017 as a Center of Excellence of the ICT sector in Moldova, with the main purpose of aligning the field with current market requirements. Aiming to contribute to increasing the competitiveness of the IT industry and other strategic sectors of the economy, the center expanded its fields of activity, becoming in 2019 a complex project at national level, with the slogan “The revolution begins!” The basic objective of the TEKWILL Project, as a platform dedicated to the progress of the IT sector, is to ensure a major impact on the economic development of the country, by improving the entrepreneurial and educational capacities of society, but also by increasing the research and development potential of educational institutions, in line with the demand in the IT market.
