Tekwill brings prestige and influences the tech by directly contributing to the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Moldova. By enabling the tech sector to continue to grow, Tekwill encourages local startups and existing companies to expand and attract international IT companies to invest in Moldova.

Tekwill is built on the belief that to be competitive economically in the years to come, Moldovan startups and innovators must begin adopting and creating industry-disrupting technology today.




Date: March 6-8

TRACTION Camp is an international program aimed at offering startups mentoring, consulting and access to resources, networks and opportunities to facilitate successful business launch and development at a global level. The program launches and conducts mini-acceleration events that bring together Silicon Valley’s prominent experts and the most promising startups in Europe. Traction camp happened before in Ukraine, Macedonia, Georgia and Sillicon Valley. This year with the support of USAID and Government of Sweden, Tekwill and ATIC bring Traction Camp to Moldova with a regional focus. 20 startups from Moldova, Ukraine, and Romania will be selected to take part.

Moldova ICT Summit is the leading industry event aimed to gather all industry stakeholders, including government, business, multinationals, professionals and academia, to discuss trends and challenges facing the ICT industry globally and in the country, set the premises for sustainable entrepreneurship environment to foster innovation and attract investment. Currently, the ICT sector has been declared as a priority for Moldovan Government, thus the last one promised to get engaged into supporting and promoting the ICT sector as a main driver for the whole economy. In the past several years, the interest for ICT has quickly developed, while more aspects related to ICT are considered of high interest. This year, Moldova ICT Summit is dedicated exclusively to EdTech. Currently, the ICT sector faces a big shortage of skilled labour force in order to address the market needs, and the vocational and higher education system in Moldova cannot yet meet the industry demand. To address the scarcity of human capital and lack of an entrepreneurial ecosystem, as the key challenges inhibiting the growth of ICT industry, a revolution in the way we prepare our children and youth for professional success is critical.

Will bring together the regional community focused on growing the understanding of and expertise in the fintech space. Currently present in Romania, Moldova, Finland and Hungary.

Startup Academy is an entrepreneurial education program, which will take place over a period of three months. The program will consist of selecting around 20 projects, whose representatives will be enthusiasts who will be trained and supported to go through the whole process of creating their own business, from developing a startup concept to the stage of attracting investments, so in the end to count 6 finalists.

The 10 best startups from Chisinau will be invited to pitch in front of an investment panel and compete to be crowned the most promising seed-stage startup of Seedstars Chisinau 2017. The winning startup will join the global Seedstars Family and take part in the regional and global Seedstars Summits that include our tried and tested bootcamp and investor forum. It’s a catalytic platform for high growth emerging market startups. In addition to seeing the top startups pitch, you can look forward to an event filled with disruptive tech, inspirational discussions, networking sessions and one flight ticket for the winner to come to Switzerland to compete for over $1mn in investment.

Tech Village is set to be an unprecedented investor’s conference, where person to person interaction is the most important element. The conference will unite 50 local and international investors and 50 startup founders in the same village at Orheiul Vechi. For a weekend, the fast-paced future businesses will be born out of the idyllic atmosphere of Moldova countryside.

Tech Fest is an umbrella event, hosting a series of activities dedicated to all those passionate about technology and innovation in the country (i.e. connectivity applications, smart solutions, VR, gaming robots, AI, automotive, etc.). The event is open to all tech enthusiasts: IT professionals, vertical industries, entrepreneurs and students.

Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. From engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue for these “makers” to show hobbies, experiments, projects.



Date: October 17

ICT Career Orientation is dedicated to all young people studying ICT specialties within higher or vocational education institutions and aims to motivate and guide them on the opportunities for professional growth in the ICT. The annual event has become the main communication platform between current and future IT professionals, employers and potential employees. Major IT companies will come to share useful insights and information on current career directions, cutting-edge technologies, suggestions for developing a successful career, but also to talk with students about requirements and recommendations for continuous professional growth. Young people will have the opportunity to discuss with potential employers and learn from them what are the opportunities they can take advantage of, career prospects and steps to be taken to increase their chances in the field. The event agenda will include guidance sessions on mainstream topics and trends. Within the Companies Fair held in the hall of the university, the participants will learn more information about participating companies, internship opportunities, and employment conditions.

The “Women in ICT” event celebrates female role models, brings into the spotlight successful practices and stories, and dismantles stereotypes and common misperceptions about career opportunities in IT. Another aim of this event is to support women IT professionals, encourage experience and knowledge sharing, and give a significant boost to communication and collaboration among them. Participants are given the opportunity to get to know each other and to exchange views and visions. Well-known ICT managers and successful professionals share their experiences and offer suggestions and recommendations on how to build a bright career in IT. Over 200 participants are expected to attend the event. Within the event, the “Women in ICT” Awarding Ceremony will take place. The Ceremony has the purpose to recognize and celebrate the professionals, that have had a significant contribution to the development of the local ICT industry. Twenty female IT professionals, managers, representatives of ICT public authorities and teachers, educating IT professionals, will be awarded.

All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a 54 hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. The weekend culminates with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback.

The Game Factory 2018 conference for game developers will take place in at Tekwill, on November 27, 2018. The event helps local studios and indie teams to share their opinion with each other, crystallizing the community, and to declare themselves to the numerous local and foreign partners.

Next to Startup Weekend, CSW is one of the Startup Programs of the global ecosystem – Techstars hosted by over 75 communities around the world, created to inspire and strengthen the area’s entrepreneurial community through a week-long series of more than 30 free networking and workshops sessions on topics such as finding funding, marketing for startups, and sales training. The goal is to create an environment where people from Moldova and South-Eastern Europe can come together to share their stories, learn, network and expose potential.

A fixed-term, cohort-based program that includes seed investment, connections, mentorship, educational components, and culminate in a public pitch event or demo day to accelerate growth.

Shared Breakfast is a regular morning coffee event for tech community every Thursday at Tekwill Cafe. The event has the goal of helping the community to discover new opportunities, share experience and making connections by sharing breakfast. Based on the needs and expressed interested from the community we started inviting guest speakers that would cover relevant subjects in different tech field with significant knowledge to help the community achieve valuable experience.

Tekwill Visionary Club is comprised of discussion, training and networking events. It was launched on April 4th 2017 with the intention of bringing to Moldova international visionary leaders as well as inspiration from local success stories. With the belief that start-ups can shape the future of Moldova, Tekwill Visionary Club brings visionaries and opinion leaders from around the world who have a valuable opinion and perspective about the latest global trends in IT. Therefore, these events help local startups gain a global perspective regarding their field of interest and consider solutions for creating startups that will be representative of Moldova.

Silicon Drinkabout is a meet-up for startups and techies to meet like-minded people, have some fun and relax at the end of the working week. Originally founded by Mind Candy, grown in London by 3beards and expanded around the world with the enthusiasm, energy and commitment of volunteers, Silicon Drinkabout aims to connect and support startup communities both on a local and global level.

Tech Women powered by ATIC that represents a communication platform of women involved in Tech to foster education, entrepreneurship, inclusion and encourage more girls to chose tech. It aims at sharing the experience and including tech women generate and inspire others.



Date: Trimestrial

Chisinau Demo Day powered by Tekwill aims to bring into the spotlight the products and technologies that are being developed by the local startups. The teams have the opportunity to showcase their products to community leaders and members, and gain valuable and constructive feedback on their work.



Date: Monthly

The goal of the events is to gather the local FinTech community and help it grow and collaborate. Each time a speaker presents topic of interest in the FinTech Community.



Date: Bi-Annual

Presenters get 20 slides, which automatically advance every 15 seconds. The result is a fast and fun presentation which lasts just 5 minutes. Ignite events are held in cities around the world, one of which is Chisinau.



Date: January – May

Technovation Challenge is a global tech competition that teaches girls ages 10-18 how to code and start a business. Every year, Technovation invites teams of girls from all over the world, including Moldova, to learn and apply the skills needed to solve real-world problems through technology. Technovation offers girls around the world the opportunity to learn the necessary skills to become tech entrepreneurs and leaders.



Date: March – June

Power Up! Competition for start-ups which develop ideas in energy, energy efficiency, smog, cleantech, mobility, smart building and smart cities, IT solutions for energy and utility services, air quality, blockchain in energy, etc. It is organised once per year and includes a bootcamp and a national final, afterwords winners are participating in the international final organised by EIT InnoEnergy.

YES – Europe’s first and foremost mission is to bridge the energy community. In order to fulfill this mission, YES – Europe organizes various events every year, including the cornerstone Annual Conference and a series of regional events, which are held in different cities in Europe. These events are opportunities for young professionals, students, experts and others stakeholders from the energy industry to come together to debate the future of European and world energy as well as to devise a plan forward.

YEP! Moldova’s vision is to shape a new generation of entrepreneurs. Their mission is to encourage every single student from the Moldovan Universities to dream about entrepreneurship and to give tools to Start-Up, by promoting the entrepreneurial experienced learning. Beneficiaries of the Project are students, teachers, Universities, public authorities, community. Students get practical knowledge on startup ecosystem, on how to solve society’s challenges and have efficient tools for business ideas generation. YEP!Moldova its a network of academic startup accelerators.



Date: June – August

ClimateLaunchpad is the world’s largest green business ideas competition. The mission is to unlock the world’s cleantech potential that addresses climate change. The competition creates a stage for those ideas. ClimateLaunchpad is part of the Entrepreneurship offerings of EIT Climate-KIC. ClimateLaunchpad is organized in over 45 countries, one of which is Moldova.

Django Girls is a non-profit organization and a community that empowers and helps women to organize free, one-day programming workshops by providing tools, resources and support. It is making technology more approachable by creating resources designed with empathy. During the event, 30-60 women build their first web application using HTML, CSS, Python and Django.



Date: April 27-29

A 3-day hackathon consisting of four main streams including FinTech, Telecom, Creative Industries, and HealthTech. Garage48 Hackathon is organised by Garage48 and CIVITTA Moldova with the financial support of Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the Fund for Development and Humanitarian Aid and supported by Tekwill.

In Moldova, the first edition took place in Chișinău, in May 2015. Rails Girls Chișinău guides the participants in building their own web applications. During the event the participants will be able to develop their projects following the guide and with the help of the Rails Girls’ mentors.

InnoTalks is a project that promotes Moldovan Innovators in different fields. Consists mainly in periodical panel discussions with the participation of 3-5 innovators from a specific field who share their experience and challenges to the audience. Also includes presentations for existing opportunities for specific fields. The next InnoTalks session is planned for Smart Energy Entrepreneurs.


Tekwill events will not be possible without the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Government of Sweden through Sida/Swedish International Development Agency in the framework of the project “Development of Moldova ICT Excellence Center” implemented by Moldovan Association of ICT Companies (ATIC) in partnership with Technical University of Moldova, Moldovan Investment and Export Promotion Organization (MIEPO), and Swiss Cooperation Office in Moldova.
