Digital Education in Schools

The most revolutionary project that brings the professions of the future to schools – “Tekwill in every school” comes with new opportunities for teaching staff. This time, the initiative launched the continuing education program for primary school teachers for the subject of “Digital Education”. During the training sessions, the teachers benefited from education, mentoring, guidance and assistance from qualified specialists, in order to be able to teach the discipline “Digital Education” to primary school pupils in the autumn.

The continuing education program for the 1,200 teachers aims to train teachers to be able to teach “Digital Education” to primary school pupils, so that pupils can develop computer skills, technologies and robotics, to cultivate their passion for STEM education, so that, later, he/she can consciously choose one of the professions of the future.

“Digital Education” is a compulsory subject for primary school pupils, which was introduced in 2018 by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research (MECC), in order to learn the use of digital tools and technologies by pupils. The program was launched after signing a Memorandum of Understanding on the development of digital education in general education between the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, the National Association of ICT Companies and the Tekwill project.
