SUMMARY:ICT CAREER PROMOTION CAMPAIGN “CHOOSE A CAREER IN IT”
DESCRIPTION:The campaign “Choose a Career in IT” developed and implemented by ATIC in partnership with six leading local companies in the field has currently reached around 1540 students from grades 10-12 from 25 different lyceums of Moldova from the North\, South\, and Central areas. The campaign will run between January – May 2020 and provides insights and guidance for choosing a job within the IT sector. \nThe campaign aims to communicate the benefits of embracing an IT career and provides students with the essential benchmarks regarding the opportunities and prospects of a career in IT\, career directions\, and institutions where IT studies can be pursued. During these information and career guidance sessions\, students have the opportunity to talk with experienced IT professionals from ISD Moldova\, Orange\, Allied Testing\, Development Aid\, Pentalog\, Salt Edge Moldova\, M-Testing (ATIC Members) and learn valuable suggestions and tips from them. \nSo far\, 45 institutions have registered to host a Career Orientation session at their facility. Registration continues as new institutions request to participate in the campaign. Students and teachers have both given positive feedback\, as they have appreciated these sessions and found them useful and highly impactful in making future research about higher education choices easier. It also enabled a great way for students to interact with specialists from the IT domain\, which has been beneficial in the rural areas of Moldova since this type of activity is typically difficult to acquire. \nAs the campaign had planned to run through May 2020 its aim was to visit 100 educational institutions and to reach approximately 6\,000 students about their future career and higher education options in Moldova\, mainly in the ICT industry. \nHowever\, since March 11th\, regretfully this initiative has been interrupted due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The sessions in schools will resume once the restrictions are lifted. \nImpact: Out of 45 registered educational institutions to host a Career Orientation session at their facility\, 25 lyceums have already hosted information sessions\, while the rest have postponed for Autumn 2020. \nThe ICT Career Orientation sessions have been organized by ATIC\, the implementing partner of the USAID and Sweden Government-funded Tekwill Project and the support of UN Women through the “Enabling Women in Tech” Project.

SUMMARY:HACK THE VIRUS - A HACKATHON TO COUNTERACT COVID-19
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe IT community is joining together to create and improve existing projects aimed at combating the effects caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. \nTekwill joined the C19.md initiative group to organize an online hackathon with the theme “Hack the Virus”. The event was held the weekend of March 20-22 and was supported by UNICEF Moldova\, UNDP Moldova\, the Mentor.Me Project\, and the Cowsay.Show podcast. \nFor three days\, participating teams presented several projects aimed at combating the pandemic by identifying solutions and tools using current technology available. The participants in the hackathon were guided by IT experts and had the opportunity to communicate with organizations and representatives from international communities in order to apply the best technologies. \nAna Chirița\, director of the Tekwill project stated “Since the outbreak of the pandemic caused by COVID-19\, the Tekwill project has been involved in several initiatives aimed at identifying real solutions so that certain processes in the society can continue their course with the help of information technologies. This time\, Tekwill has aligned its efforts with the C19.md initiative to organize the first online hackathon that focuses on finding and developing projects to improve the process of disseminating truthful and official information to prevent the spread of the virus but also to reduce the consequences of the pandemic. Guide for teachers and schools\, proposing various digital tools for any need.\nGreen Zone / Avoid them Maybe? – An application that allows users to be informed about crowds in stores and gas stations to reduce the risk of coronavirus infection.\nCOVID-19 genotype map – Development and research of the COVID-19 genome map for finding action points on the virus to eliminate or limit its spread.\n\nDuring the three days of the hackathon\, representatives of the Ministry of Health and the Labour and Social Protection\, who are also part of the Single Command Center for crisis management caused by the COVID-19 virus\, interacted with 120 registered participants and came up with some project suggestions: \n\nTelemedicine – remote consultations for doctors from all over the country to inform them about the necessary measures to be taken\, in order not to get infected with COVID-19.\nSolutions for centralized communication with all the hospitals in the country\, so that all the managers of the medical institutions are informed about the latest decisions.\nVoice mail for the population.\n\nThere will be an opportunity for more ideas at the next online hackathon to generate more useful solutions to “Hack the Virus”.

DESCRIPTION:  \nLecțiile online sunt soluția pentru ca elevii din Moldova să nu rateze materiile de studiu pe durata epidemiei de Covid-19. Iar mai mulți profesioniști din Moldova au făcut front comun pentru a crea platforme\, instrumente și conținut util pentru ca lecțiile să poată fi ținute și la distanță. Studii.md este una dintre platformele care conectează la educație copiii\, profesorii și părinții și este deja utilizată de către mai multe instituții de învățământ din Moldova. Aceasta a fost dezvoltată de compania Simpals\, cu susținerea și implicarea Programului Națiunilor Unite pentru Dezvoltare și TEKWILL\, în scopul digitalizării procesului educațional. \n  \nSTUDII.MD – CONȚINUT DIGITAL ȘI MANAGEMENTUL PROCESULUI DE STUDIU ONLINE\nStudii.md este o platformă complexă pentru educația virtuală\, care cuprinde conținut didactic adaptat învățământului digital și dispune și de instrumente de management al procesului de studiu. \nPlatforma combină câteva direcții principale: agenda electronică\, registru electronic\, orarul lecțiilor\, analiza performanțelor\, dar și informații despre elevi. Conectarea este realizată de către administrația școlii\, care transmite o invitație de activare pe adresa de e-mail a elevului. \nPe studii.md\, utilizatorii pot să creeze pagini personalizate și să facă o analiză a reușitei școlare\, într-o formă comodă și accesibilă. Platforma conține orarul lecțiilor dar și o bibliotecă\, în care sunt stocate toate materialele educaționale. Prin intermediul acesteia\, elevii primesc notificări legate de procesul de învățământ. Posibilitățile tehnice îi permit să emită rapoarte standardizate care sunt expediate în mod automat către instituțiile de resort (minister\, direcții etc.). Astfel\, toate informațiile sunt transferate electronic\, în timp util și în mod transparent\, iar programul de învățământ este implementat cu succes. \nPlatforma\, adaptată pentru acces de pe orice sistem de operare (IOS sau Windows) poate fi accesată și de pe dispozitivele mobile. \nSistemul studii.md se bazează pe experiența instituțiilor de învățământ din Europa\, unde agendele electronice sunt larg răspândite. \nProgramul studii.md a adunat deja peste 20 de instituții de învățământ și are 36 mii de utilizatori unici. \n  \nSOLIDARI PENTRU EDUCAȚIE – MAI MULȚI PROFESIONIȘTI CREEAZĂ CONȚINUT DIGITAL\nDatorită eforturilor profesorilor\, voluntarilor\, specialiștilor din domeniul IT\, în țară există mai multe platforme de învățământ la distanță\, așa cum sunt edusmart.md (o bibliotecă digitală pentru stocarea și partajarea resurselor eletronice educaționale de tip text și video)\, UTM (cursuri online pentru pregătirea de bacalaureat)\, AGIRoMD (blogul Asociației Generale a Profesorilor etc.)\, Tekwill Academy și Tekwill Academy Kids. Și alți specialiști din domeniul educației au înregistrat conținut digital pentru elevi\, care a fost plasat pe diferite pagini online. Pentru ca aceste lecții să fie mai accesibile pentru profesori și elevi\, Proiectul TEKWILL împreună cu specialistul IT Vitalie Eșanu\, au luat inițiativa de a crea o pagină web\, pe care să adune tot acest conținut de pe paginile online – invat.online. \nCreatorul paginii face apel către toți voluntarii care deja au înregistrat lecțiile video\, să le plaseze pe pagină. \n  \nÎNVAT.ONLINE – PAGINA TA CU LECȚII VIRTUALE!\nInvat.online. este construită după modelul „sălilor de clasă virtuale”\, pagina web permite fiecărui cadru didactic sau instituții de învățământ să integreze link-uri\, videoclipuri\, imagini cu un conținut relevant pentru temele din curricula școlară. Ulterior\, elevii vor putea căuta toate materialele pentru tema care urmează a fi studiată. Absolut gratuită și ușor de utilizat\, platforma își propune să adune într-un singur loc toate lecțiile înregistrate de profesori\, care însă vor apărea pe interfața paginii web doar după ce trec filtrele de calitate. \n  \nPROIECTUL TEKWILL ESTE ÎN CĂUTAREA VOLUNTARILOR!\nFie că ești specialist IT\, ai cunoștințe practice în utilizarea aplicațiilor digitale G Suite\, Microsoft Teams\, Skype\, Zoom sau altele sau ești profesor care utilizează pe larg platformele destinate educației la distanță\, alătură-te grupului de inițiativă lansat de echipa Proiectului TEKWILL. Due to the joint efforts of IT professionals\, teachers\, and community leaders\, it has been made possible for students to stay up-to-date with schooling and continue their education online. \nA call was made for IT specialists and anyone with experience in using GSuite\, Microsoft Teams\, Skype\, Zoom\, or other digital applications as well as teachers who have used distance education platforms to join the Tekwill Project team in supporting teachers across the country to facilitate distance education. \n  \nA SINGLE PLATFORM FOR INTEGRATING ALL RECORDED ONLINE LESSONS HAS LAUNCHED\nOne of the newest tools that enable teachers and students to return to lessons is an online learning platform that was built on the model of “virtual classrooms”. This platform\, invat.online\, allows teachers or educational institutions to upload links\, videos\, and images with relevant content to topics in the school curriculum. Subsequently\, the platform is free and easy to use as students are able to search for materials by subject as teachers record and place the content on the platform after passing through quality filters. The platform will also host all of the didactic video materials developed by the Tekwill project. \nInvat.online was created by IT specialist and civic activist Vitalie Esanu\, IT developer. Esanu remarked about the platform\, “The educational process can continue in the ordinary regime due to information technologies. Even though the classes are now suspended for safety reasons\, teachers have all the tools they need to be able to teach at a distance\, and students can continue to learn. The invat.online platform is easy to use\, and in order to be part of this online community\, teachers just need to record the video lesson\, then place it on the web page. In turn\, students will have the opportunity to attend several lessons on the same topic\, held by different teachers”. \nTeachers across the country are urged to use technology and the online platform to continue education for students during the quarantine. The Tekwill project urges: “Stay home! Aceasta este promisiunea cu care pe 15 martie 2017\, Centrul de Excelență al sectorului Tehnologiilor Informaționale din Moldova „Tekwill” și-a deschis ușile pentru prima dată la Chișinău. \nDe la crearea sa\, „Tekwill” a dezvoltat o rețea vastă pentru colaborare între reprezentanții sectorului de afaceri\, învățământului și donatorilor internaționali\, oferind diverse programe pentru dezvoltarea și susținerea antreprenoriatului\, dar și de pregătire a forței de muncă. S-a angajat să alinieze domeniul la cerințele secolului 21\, iar astăzi reprezintă unul dintre cele mai mari huburi IT din Europa de Sud-Est – un spațiu în care oamenii se conectează la idei\, resurse\, știință și industrie\, pentru a spori excelența în acest domeniu. \n \nFiecare dintre programele lansate sub egida „Tekwill” și-a propus să aducă tinerii din țara noastră cu un pas mai aproape de viitorul dorit\, ajutându-i să-și descopere și să-și valorifice talentele\, să dea viață visurilor și să își construiască o carieră în țară. Iar aceste scopuri nu trebuie să se oprească\, indiferent de situația de criză prin care trece Republica Moldova astăzi. \nStăm acasă! Învățăm de la distanță! \nTekwill s-a aliniat demersului autorităților și limitează accesul fizic în incinta instituției\, pentru a preveni răspândirea Covid-19. În același timp\, a adaptat pentru online programele sale precum Tekwill Academy Kids\, Tekwill Academy\, chiar și unele acțiuni dedicate antreprenoriatului\, pentru a putea fi accesate de la distanță. \nAna Chirița\, directoarea Proiectului TEKWILL: „Suntem îngrijorați de imposibilitatea frecventării orelor de către elevii din toată țara și vrem să identificăm soluții reale pentru ca procesul educațional să fie unul continuu. Ne dorim să fim un partener de încredere pentru societatea noastră în aceste zile\, de aceea am creat un grup de inițiativă – lideri din comunitate\, profesori\, specialiști IT ș.a – pentru a identifica soluții și a oferi educație de calitate fiecărui elev\, acasă la el. Le mulțumesc tuturor pentru că au dat dovadă de responsabilitate și operativitate\, doar așa putem identifica soluții viabile.” \nÎn rezultatul discuțiilor au fost identificate mai multe soluții care ar putea ajuta elevii din Moldova să continue să învețe\, în condițiile suspendării procesului educațional. \n\nLa etapa inițială vor fi elaborate diverse tutoriale video și lecții practice destinate profesorilor\, care au ca scop să-i ghideze în procesul de predare online și să le ofere asistență\, pentru ca procesul educațional să continue.\n\n  \n\nGoogle Classroom este un instrument gratuit\, care este folosit pentru e-learning pe scară internațională și poate fi utilizat și în țara noastră. Această platformă funcționează ca o clasă virtuală\, care permite inclusiv interacțiunea dintre profesori și elevi. Există și soluții locale\, precum studii.md ș.a.\n\n  \n\nTekwill va lucra într-o strânsă colaborare cu profesorii\, în special cei care deja utilizează soluții inovatoare\, făcând schimb de bune practici\, întrucât expertiza lor este foarte valoroasă în integrarea noilor soluții în procesul de studiu.\n\n  \n\nPentru profesorii care vor să își îmbunătățească abilitățile de utilizare și predare prin intermediul Google Classroom\, echipa Tekwill va pregăti o serie de tutoriale care să le vină în ajutor.\n\n  \n\nÎn următoarele zile vor fi elaborate și înregistrate lecții video pentru a asigura însușirea și pregătirea pentru disciplinele STEM\, la care urmează să se susțină bacalaureatul. Echipa ATIC/Tekwill propune elaborarea și înregistrarea a câte 20-30 de lecții video pentru fiecare disciplină STEM. Lecțiile video vor acoperi tematicile necesare pentru pregătirea completă de BAC\, cu o durată de la 30 min la 1h. A fost identificată o echipă de profesori care este dispusă să se implice în acest sens\, pentru următoarele discipline: fizică\, biologie\, chimie\, geografie. Și pentru treapta gimnazială vor fi elaborate materiale didactice în format video\, iar elevii vor putea studia astfel matematica și informatică.\n\n  \n\nAlături de lecțiile video elaborate de Tekwill vor fi colectate și alte materiale didactice elaborate de alți profesioniști (AGIRoMd\, studii.md\, Universitatea Tehnică a Moldovei etc.)\, care reprezintă un suport util pentru predarea disciplinelor la distanță.\n\nMaterialele vor putea fi plasate pe o pagină dedicată\, care este în curs de elaborare de către specialistul în IT și activistul civic\, Vitalie Eșanu. \nProiectul TEKWILL îndeamnă: „Stați acasă! SUMMARY:SCHOLARSHIPS FOR IT TRAINING PROGRAMS IN THE BALTI AND CAHUL REGIONS VIA THE "OPTIM" PROJECT
DESCRIPTION:Human resources are the most important capital of the Republic of Moldova and the only one that can propel the country among the prosperous states with a high quality of life index. In this sense\, the information technology (IT) industry offers all the possibilities and conditions for talent\, potential\, and knowledge to be maximized by its citizens to their fullest potential\, for their own interest and for the benefit of the community by creating high value-added products and services. \nMoldova’s economic development remains focused on Chisinau with almost all successful IT companies being located in the capital. Currently\, only a small number of relatively small companies operate in the regions of the country\, including Balti\, Cahul and Comrat. According to the results of the findings of the Feasibility Study conducted within the Tekwill project\, in the Balti region\, there are 26 IT companies (188 employees)\, in Cahul there are six companies (16 employees) and in Comrat there are eight companies (12 employees). These local companies face an acute shortage of human resources\, this constraint significantly limits their growth and the possibility to strengthen their competitiveness. \nIn order to extend the development opportunities in these regions and to create the premises for connecting the talent and potential of human capital with the possibilities offered by the local IT companies\, the “Tekwill” project in partnership with the “Optim” project launches a Scholarship Program in IT. \nThis initiative is carried out in the Balti and Cahul regions with the support of the Swiss Cooperation Office within the project “Optim – Opportunities through Technologies and Innovation in Moldova” and implemented by Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova as well as with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Sweden in the “Tekwill” project. \nThe program offers training in the field of web development and will run from April to July 2020. The courses will last four months for the Cahul region and three months for the Balti region. The web development training will involve building\, creating and maintaining websites. In a broad sense\, it includes the design\, content publishing\, programming\, and data management aspects. The term web developer usually refers to the non-design\, writing of the markups and the code required to operate a site. Web developers can specialize in front-end\, back-end\, and full-stack development. \nThe courses will be delivered by experienced mentors\, according to training programs specially designed and adjusted to current industry standards. In order to ensure the participation within the scholarship program and to confirm the participants’ commitment\, the scholarships will cover 70% of the training cost while the beneficiaries will come with a contribution in the amount of 1\,500 lei. The eligible candidates for the training programs are at least 17 years old or above\, who have graduated high school or completed special secondary education\, and have an intention to work within the IT field.

SUMMARY:EBEC (EUROPEAN BEST ENGINEERING COMPETITION) 2020. ETAPA LOCALĂ
DESCRIPTION:În data de 28-29 februarie în Centrul de dezvoltare a industriilor creative – Artcor\, s-a desfășurat EBEC Chișinău 2020. Au fost prezenți 48 de participanți entuziasmați și pregătiți de o nouă provocare și experiență. Aceștia au dat dovadă de curaj\, și-au dezvoltat abilitățile de comunicare în public și au ieșit în evidență prin participare. \nEBEC (European BEST Engineering Competition) este o competiție organizată la nivel european\, care se adresează tuturor studenților interesați să dea viață unor idei ingenioase. Aceasta este concepută pe trei niveluri: etapa locală\, regională și finală\, având la bază două probe care se desfășoară simultan: Case Study (participanții trebuie să ofere cea mai potrivită și practică soluție pentru rezolvarea unei probleme din societate sau business) și Team Design (participanților li se oferă un set de materiale pentru a construi un dispozitiv care îndeplinește o sarcină anumită). \nEBEC Chișinău 2020 este una din cele 84 etape locale desfășurate în Europa. \n \n  \nAnul acesta la proba Case Study s-a propus de a aduce soluții de rezolvare a celebrei arhitecturi din 1986\, care astăzi se află într-o stare deplorabilă – “Romaniţa”. Sarcina echipelor a fost de a transforma această clădire într-un loc turistic\, administrativ sau economic\, atrăgând cât mai mulți investitori și excluzând ideea de a mai fi folosită ca bloc locativ. La această probă studenții și-au exersat abilitățile analitice și de prezentare. \n \n  \nPe când la proba Team Design participanții au trebuit să construiască un dispozitiv care să aibă capacitatea de a măsura 30 de secunde. Aceștia au pus în practică cunoștințele teoretice și și-au încercat abilitățile tehnice în realizarea unei construcții inginerești care îndeplineşte anumite condiţii de rezistenţă\, stabilitate şi mobilitate\, în doar 6 ore. \n \n  \nȚinem să-i remarcăm pe cei care au demonstrat ambiție și creativitate\, câștigând etapa locală: echipa \,\,RIGID”\, proba Team Design\, alcătuită din Radu Păpușoi\, Veronica Bologan\, Grigorii Buza și Lungu Cristian studenți ai Facultății Calculatoare Informatică și Microelectronică și echipa \,\,CIC”\, proba Case Study compusă din Racu Tudor\, Gobelez Denis\, Ciobanu Valeria și Cernei Victoria de la Facultatea Construcții\, Geodezie și Cadastru. Aceste 2 echipe vor concura cu alte 8 echipe la etapa regională EBEC ce se va desfășura în Cluj-Napoca. \n\nechipa ”CIC” echipa ”Rigid” \n  \nSuntem siguri că emoția trăită în timpul realizării sarcinilor și cea din timpul prezentărilor nu se compară cu nimic și\, de aceea\, au fost întrebați câțiva participanți care au fost trăirile acestora. Ce i-a determinat să se înscrie la competiția inginerească EBEC Chișinău 2020\, ce emoții au avut când au aflat sarcina\, în timpul prezentării și dacă această participare le va fi utilă pe viitor? \nIrina Bacal\, studentă FCIM parte din echipa \,\,GoalSeekers”\, proba CS :\n“M-a determinat să mă înscriu colega mea\, Augustina Rotari care este membru activ a organizației BEST Chișinău și mulțumesc ei foarte mult și dorinței de a mă implică într-o competiție inginerească\, care de fapt a fost prima experiență de acest gen. M-am simțit bine în timpul realizării sarcinii\, am avut puține emoții în timpul prezentării\, dar au fost binevenite. Cred că această experiență a fost una utilă\, în primul rând\, am avut șansa să-mi încerc puterile și să cunosc noi persoane.” \nNicoleta Ursu\, studentă FCIM\, parte din echipa \,\,Kupper” de la proba TD: “Am participat la ediția precedentă EBEC și am decis să încerc și anul acesta. Am simțit un sentiment plăcut de competitivitate și am rămas foarte surprinsă când ni s-au cerut telefoanele\, pentru că așa știam la sigur că ideile vor fi cu adevărat gândite și nu plagiate\, iar lucrările vor reprezenta direct nivelul de ingeniozitate și cunoștințe al fiecărei echipe. Sarcina mi-a părut interesantă și provocatoare\, iar procesul de dezvoltare a fost unul vesel cu multe zâmbete în cadrul echipei. Cred că această experiență îmi va fi utilă pe viitor\, am reușit să aflu lucruri noi și să lucrez eficient în echipă. La sigur voi mai participa la următoarele ediții.” \nCiobanu Valeria\, studentă FCGC\, proba CS parte din echipa CIC:\n“Când Cristian Șindila\, membru BEST Chișinău și unul din organizatorii acestui eveniment m-a informat despre competiția inginerească EBEC\, mi-am zis că trebuie să încerc să particip. În primul rând\, ca să capăt experiență și pentru că mi s-a părut destul de interesant și interactiv. Aflând tema sarcinii\, împreună cu membrii echipei ne gândeam să facem ceva original\, iar principala sursă de inspirație să fie ideile noastre. În timpul prezentării\, bineînțeles\, că am avut emoții\, dar au fost constructive și care au redat starea de entuziasm și fericire din ochii noștri în acel moment. Marea ne-a fost mirarea și mai mari emoțiile\, când juriul a anunțat că noi suntem echipa câștigătoare și că vom merge la etapa regională a concursului. Când te aștepți mai puțin\, exact atunci primești mai mult. Am înțeles că lucrând în echipă poți avea și rezultat. Am înțeles că nu e cel mai important câștigul\, dar experiența pe care o primești\, oamenii pe care îi întâlnești și cu care faci schimb de cunoștințe și înveți lucruri utile pentru viitor.” \nRadu Popusoi\, student FCIM\, proba TD\, echipa \,\,RIGID” ne-a împărtășit și el experiența care a trăit-o în timpul competiției: \n“În primul rând\, motivul pentru care m-am înscris la EBEC este pentru a participa și a aplica cunoștințele mele în domeniul tehnologic și al design-ului la sarcina care a fost propusă de organizatori. Să fiu sincer\, când am aflat sarcina\, văzând ce materiale avem pe masă\, m-am blocat pe cateva minute. Nu vedeam și nu auzeam nimic în jur\, mă gândeam la soluții\, la idei și cum trebuie de realizat acest prototip. În timp\, discutând cu echipa\, analizând ideile fiecăruia din noi\, ne-am decis și am pornit munca asupra prototipului. În timpul realizării am întâmpinat multe probleme și erori care trăgeau din timpul ce se scurgea de pe ecran. Însă\, când am prezentat\, am devenit mai liberi și gata moral de a expune ce am realizat\, prototipul fiind perfect funcțional. Acest eveniment a fost foarte util pentru mine dar cred că și pentru alți tinerii studenți\, viitori ingineri. Va suna puțin narcisist\, dar eram siguri că vom câștiga. Am crezut în noi\, am sperat la asta cu toții. De asemenea\, vor fi organizate întâlniri și ateliere în diverse locuri din oraș.\n\n  \n\n„Tech Open Doors” – 26 martie. Chișinău Startup Week 2020 își va închide ușile cu un eveniment unic\, desfășurat în premieră în Republica Moldova. DESCRIPTION:In accordance with Year 5 Tekwill project priorities\, financed by USAID and Sweden\, Enterprise Incubator Foundation (Armenia) has been selected to assess and deliver a full comprehensive roadmap on ICT Education initiatives\, as well as focus on: \n\nconducting a thorough research on international experience in similar countries such as Armenia\, Georgia\, Albania\, Kosovo as developing countries\, as well as Sweden\, Estonia\, Finland\, etc. as world known success examples;\ncreating a vision related to worldwide experiences in a) introducing digital skills\, as a must b) nurturing tech skills to meet market needs c) create demand for IT related solutions\, introduced in education;\nevaluating existing educational initiatives and their business models on the market provided by donor community\, private sector and the Government\, together or on a separate basis;\nconducting interviews with the main stakeholders on the market\, including private companies\, implementing agencies\, government\, educational institutions representatives\, donors or civil society;\nbased on the findings of the interviews and evaluation\, propose a roadmap for improving the situation of IT skills gap in Moldova\, as well as acquiring digital skills at various levels;\nproposing continue\, merge existing initiatives or access new interventions\, by evaluating efficiency\, effectiveness\, impact\, cost\, available resources under a roadmap for better IT skills\, in accordance with EU and world trends;\ndelivering a report that will be used by Tekwill Project in its implementation of extending existing programs or define new initiative for a national reach out;\nvalidating proposed concepts with the main stakeholders.\n\nDuring the week of November 18-20\, 2019\, the Armenian representatives have visited Moldova in the assignment of evaluating and developing a roadmap of ICT related Educational initiatives. The consulting team has held meetings with the Ministry of Education\, Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure representative\, leading universities\, Tekwill project stakeholders\, various donors who deploy educational initiatives\, private sector representatives\, etc. \nDuring the second visit\, a second round of validation with private sector stakeholders\, universities\, K12 representatives\, donors has taken place. DESCRIPTION:Tekwill project launched the second edition of the “Uteach” program on January 22nd. As part of the “Tekwill Ambassador Program”\, this initiative provides development opportunities and the resources necessary for all those interested in teaching in the field of Information Technology and Communications (ICT). The component “UTeach” is addressed to university staff who teach ICT or related specialties and aims to diversify and adjust the ICT education to the current requirements and trends of the industry. ATIC launched a call for the identification of 10 university lecturers who will come with unique training programs\, innovative approaches to teaching\, extracurricular projects and initiatives capable of reinvigorating the quality of university education in the field of information technologies. Public-private partnerships are the “engine” of human capital development in the IT field. The partnership with ISD is one of the most successful collaborations made within the Tekwill Project. \nTeaching staff within university institutions of the Republic of Moldova in the field of computer science and/or other related specialties had the opportunity to submit their eligible proposals under the Program including the following concerns: \n\ndeveloping and implementing viable curricula\, inspired by the realities and pressing needs of the IT industry.\ndevelopment and implementation of extra-curricular programs and projects dedicated to increasing student employment opportunities.\ncarrying out activities to promote IT careers.\ndevelopment and implementation of programs and projects that encourage performance in other fields by using IT tools.\ndeveloping and piloting digital content or tools.\ndeveloping and piloting IT programs\, designed to support continuous training\, and training of teachers in any field.\ndevelopment and implementation of educational research projects in partnership with the private sector\, etc.\nensuring the sustainability of the projects\, programs\, initiatives developed and piloted.\n\nSince March 1st files were obtained from 14 teachers from 5 higher education institutions: ASEM\, USM\, UTM\, UPS and the State University of Tiraspol. Candidates have been evaluated based on a cumulative score of the recommendation of the university/validation committee (30%)\, evaluation from the private sector (40%) and evaluation by students (30%). \nTo highlight the practical skills of the readers in the “UTeach” initiative of the “Tekwill Ambassador Program”\, 10 motivated persons will be selected\, who will each receive between $500-2000 USD for the implementation of the proposed concept. The financial support is provided from the resources of the “Tekwill ICT Center of Excellence Development Project”\, supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Sweden. \nThe project implementation period: March 1 – December 30\, 2020.

DESCRIPTION:  \nOn November 1\, 2019\, the National Association of ICT Companies has launched the second edition of the “Tekwill Ambassadors” program\, an initiative in which the development opportunities come closer to all those interested and provide them with the support and resources necessary for to achieve the performance in the field of Information Technology and Communications (ICT). The program is possible due to the financial support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Government of Sweden within the project “Development of the Center of Excellence in the ICT Field”. \nInitiatives and projects dedicated to the development of information technology will be supported through strengthening education and entrepreneurship within the program. Project proposals can be submitted by individuals\, non-governmental organizations\, companies\, and initiative groups. \nThe Tekwill Ambassadors program will support projects that will contribute to the implementation of the following objectives: \n\nHuman capital development for the ICT sector\nDevelopment of ICT entrepreneurship\nDeeptech propulsion and other verticals (agrotech\, energy\, edtech\, fintech\, biotech\, etc.)\n\nThe period of implementation of the projects runs between January 1 – December 30\, 2020.
