DESCRIPTION:Tekwill contributes to the development of the Moldovan business community by supporting ICT startups. In this context\, it organizes B2B activities aimed at enhancing IT benefits for users\, helping SMEs to understand the role of IT and to identify and adopt new marketing and development tools. It also conducts idea generating events\, mentoring programs with national and international trainers and experts\, as well as consulting and networking activities to strengthen the community. \nIn recent years\, Tekwill has supported 614 educational initiatives and 458 entrepreneurial initiatives\, becoming one of the most successful technology initiatives in Moldova. The project helped over 426 teams improve their businesses\, create opportunities\, and look for investments. \nTekwill opened in 2017 as the Center of Excellence of the ICT sector in Moldova\, with the main goal of aligning the field with the requirements of the 21st century. Aiming to contribute to increasing the competitiveness of the IT industry and other strategic sectors of the economy\, the center has expanded the current fields of activity\, becoming a complex nationwide project in 2019. The basic objective of the Tekwill Project as a platform dedicated to the progress of the IT sector\, is to ensure a major impact on the economic development of the country by improving the entrepreneurial and educational capacities of society\, but also the research and development potential of higher education in line with the IT market demands.

With the launch of Startup Moldova\, as the first National Program to support IT entrepreneurship in the country\, startups can benefit from access to educational programs\, infrastructure\, consulting\, mentoring\, opportunities to connect to international events and competitions\, as well as to attract funding sources. The program is developed within the Tekwill project with the support of USAID and Sweden development partners\, together with the National Association of ICT Companies\, Moldova IT Park\, UNDP and ODIMM. \nAna Chirița\, Tekwill Project Director stated “In the new reality\, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic\, now\, more than ever\, IT innovations are an absolute necessity\, both to overcome current challenges and to combat the economic crisis. We created the Moldova Startup Program to support innovative thinking\, the creation of digital services and products\, but also intersectoral collaboration. Thus\, information technologies will become an important catalyst for stabilization during and after the crisis\, as new solutions will meet the development needs of various sectors of the national economy. At the same time\, startups will provide new employment opportunities and models\, developing young people’s skills and creating new jobs. In this way\, they will be encouraged to stay at home and use their potential for the further development of the country. Therefore\, we reaffirm our commitment established with the expansion of the Tekwill Project – to start the revolution!” \n  \nStartup Moldova – we grow ideas that change the world! \n“Startup Moldova” is a platform for generating\, piloting\, and implementing new ideas for both the local and global market. The program will map all those involved in this field and information technologies will be connected to all areas of public and private interest on local and global markets. The successes and failures of entrepreneurs will be put in the spotlight. The program provides a series of actions to enable: \n\nconnecting stakeholders from different industries\, depending on needs – education\, business\, marketing\, technology\, financial consulting\, mentoring\, acceleration programs with national and international expertise;\ncreating mixed products in collaboration;\naccessing funds to ensure liquidity;\nreceiving extensive assistance for piloting business ideas;\nconnecting with global markets and cooperating with similar programs\, aimed at digitizing businesses or sectors.\n\nTo begin\, “Startup Moldova” comes with 3 major programs under one umbrella which will carry out several projects for the development of the business ecosystem based on IT innovations. \nThe “Digital Upgrade” program provides collaboration between IT and non-IT businesses for the development of a series of projects designed to study the most pressing needs of non-IT sectors of day-to-day business (business to business). It also provides potential for startups and companies whose activity is based on information technologies. Tekwill will support the collaboration between IT and non-IT industries which can adapt and progress with the help of innovations (on verticals) in the fields: FinTech\, WineTech\, AgTech\, MedTech\, Lifestyle\, Data Science\, IoT\, and e-commerce. With this program\, at least 40 companies will receive support for the digitization of internal processes aimed at increasing productivity\, sales\, technology and e-commerce for the non-IT sectors. To identify the right solutions the Tekwill project\, together with its network of partners (ATIC\, Moldova IT Park)\, will mobilize the entire IT community in Moldova. In other words\, over 530 existing companies and startups with potential will come to the aid of traditional industries. \nThe “Impact” program offers the development of key sectors of the economy by providing research and identifying problems in strategic sectors of the national economy. The program aims to provide real IT solutions for the development of the sector in general\, which could later have a major impact on independent businesses\, such as process automation solutions\, improving business tools\, and facilitating the use of e-commerce and tools for sale. Subsequently\, the joint working groups consists of representatives of traditional sectors\, experts in the fields of reference and IT professionals. These groups will analyze and propose (possibly even fund) the necessary solutions\, services or products. In addition to the working groups\, virtual guidance sessions will be organized for participants to understand the new business models and opportunities of the sector. Also\, in collaboration with the most important representatives of the sector\, dedicated sectoral programs for entrepreneurship education and information technologies will be created and offered. \nThe “Creative Growth” program provides a series of actions to support startups that have a solid business model by ensuring access to education and professional programs\, financing\, assistance in piloting business ideas\, and connecting them to global markets and cooperation with similar programs. DESCRIPTION:  \nAi crezut în puterea educației și în posibilitatea de a crește o generație de tineri care să poate face față provocărilor economice actuale. Mobilizarea ta\, ne-a încurajat să punem bazele celui mai ambițios proiect non-profit din domeniul educației – „Tekwill în fiecare școală” – un program complex de cursuri extra-curriculare\, care își propune să dezvolte abilitățile copiilor\, pentru a fi mai pregătiți pentru profesiile de mâine. Inițiativa prevede dezvoltarea mai multor conținuturi gratuite pe domenii prioritare accesibile tuturor instituțiilor de învățământ secundar general din Republica Moldova. Crearea cursurilor a fost posibilă prin mobilizarea eforturilor financiare ale sectorului privat și ale cetățenilor din țară și diasporă (în cadrul campaniei de crowdfunding TwentyTu\, desfășurată în anul 2018)\, precum și ale partenerilor de dezvoltare externi – PNUD Moldova\, USAID\, Suedia. SUMMARY:STARTUP IN MOLDOVA DEVELOPS A TELEMEDICINE SOLUTION AS THEY PARTICIPATED IN THE LARGEST EUROPEAN INNOVATION HACKATHON
DESCRIPTION:  \nCrisis solutions for crisis situations. A telemedicine project was developed by a Moldovan couple who participated in the largest hackathon\, #EUvsVirus\, organized by the European Innovation Council. The event brought together over 20\,000 participants from European Community countries and aimed to identify future solutions to help Europe recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. The Tele.MedicalTourism.Review project was among the 2\,150 initiatives that signed up for the hackathon. The digital solution is a platform that allows patients who do not have access to complex or integrative medical services to find treatments and reach medical institutions. Moreover\, the application helps patients to identify the quality of the clinic or hospital available to support them through various registrations\, qualifications\, accreditations\, and reviews from other patients. \nThe startup Tele.MedicalTourism.Review was created by Nicoleta and Sergiu Nagailic\, two young people with vision and a lot of experience in the IT field. \n  \n \nSergiu Nagailic\, creator of the Tele.MedicalTourism.Review application stated “I received an invitation email to participate in the #EUvsVirus hackathon from a European organization\, after previously taking part in an acceleration project. We were glad to have the opportunity to talk to medical experts\, who will help us test our concept\, as indeed happened. For 2 days we talked to over 20 mentors and received feedback at each stage. For example\, many medical tourism experts have told us that our project is unique because it provides cross-border telemedicine services\, which is in high demand now\, because in many countries\, medical services do not exist at the national level only.” \nIn the context of the COVID-19 pandemic\, the online platform was completed with a set of communication functionalities that\, in the long run\, will help both patients and medical service providers. Thus\, among the new options that emerged after participating in the European competition are: \nAn appointment setting system which allows patients to set the time for an online call to a doctor or even an actual appointment at one of the platform’s member clinics; \nA live chat which allows patients to talk directly to hospitals and medical institutions to manage requests more easily; \nTelemedicine – a video / audio server and a customized interface for each session. \nNicoleta Nagailic\, creator of the Tele.MedicalTourism.Review app stated “Creating a telemedicine project has long been our goal and was planned to be a charity project\, namely to help people have access to specialized quality services. Since the beginning of the pandemic\, the number of people with serious health problems who cannot reach a doctor has increased considerably\, and we received more and more messages on our page. Therefore\, we acted because we believe that access to medicine\, through its online component\, must be accessible not only at the national level and not be limited to a minimum number of hospitals. We want our patients to be able to talk to a doctor online\, chat\, audio or video\, and this is possible to implement not only in developed countries\, especially because there are many hospitals that provide free consultations\, and we can ensure that connection. Now we are at the stage of identifying development partners for the full implementation of our solution.”  \nThe innovative cross-border telemedicine solution Tele.MedicalTourism.Review is also encouraged to develop by the Tekwill project which contributes to creating opportunities for entrepreneurship development in Moldova\, including by facilitating access to resources and creating the necessary connections. \n  \nAbout the Tekwill Project \nThe Tekwill project is implemented by the National Association of ICT Companies with the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Sweden. Tekwill was created in 2017 as a Center of Excellence of the ICT sector in Moldova\, with the main purpose of aligning the field with current market requirements. Aiming to contribute to increasing the competitiveness of the IT industry and other strategic sectors of the economy\, the center has expanded its fields of activity\, becoming in 2019 a complex nationwide project. DESCRIPTION:Unele dintre cele mai recunoscute programe internaționale de studii în domeniul IT\, elaborate de Oracle University\, vor fi disponibile gratuit pentru studenții și profesori din instituțiile de învățământ superior din Republica Moldova. Inițiativa are ca scop formarea forței de muncă necesară domeniului și este implementată prin intermediul universităților din Republica Moldova. Propunerea adresată tinerilor este lansată cu sprijinul financiar al Agenției Statelor Unite pentru Dezvoltare Internațională și Guvernului Suediei în cadrul Proiectului „Dezvoltarea Centrului de Excelență în domeniul TIC TEKWILL”. \nAstfel\, 200 studenții și profesorii vor avea ocazia să studieze limbajele de programare Java sau SQL Fundamentals\, și să acceseze resurse educaționale recunoscute la nivel global. Acest lucru va fi posibil\, în baza unor ekit-uri și vouchere oferite de către Oracle University\, care permit accesul gratuit la cursurile online. \nPrin urmare\, până pe 15 mai 2020\, cadrele didactice interesate sunt invitate să completeze formularul de acces. Profesorii selectați vor fi instruiți de către specialiști de top ai proiectului pe perioada de vară\, iar ulterior\, vor fi invitați să predea cursurile alese în instituțiile pe care le reprezintă. \nStudenții care doresc să beneficieze de o bursă sunt invitați să completeze formularul de înregistrare\, până la data de 15 iunie 2020. Procesul de selecție a studenților va avea loc pe parcursul lunii iulie\, astfel încât din septembrie să înceapă cursurile în instituțiile din care fac parte. \nPe parcursul a 3 luni tinerii vor studia intensiv conținuturile propuse în cadrul orelor universitare și vor însuși cunoștințele relevante pentru a susține cu succes examenul de certificare OCA (Oracle Certified Associate). Studenții vor avea acces la întregul conținut autorizat de Oracle Workforce Development Program pentru cursul Java Fundamentals: lecții teoretice și practice\, quizzes\, proiecte de echipă etc. Recunoscută la nivel internațional\, certificarea Oracle confirmă cunoștințele asimilate și competențele dezvoltate\, constituind un avantaj important în procesul de angajare și afirmare profesională. \nProiectul-pilot este parte a programului Tekwill Ambassadors Program\, ediția „Scholarships”\, o inițiativă prin care programele și oportunitățile de dezvoltare vin mai aproape de toți cei interesați și le oferă susținerea dar și resursele necesare pentru a atinge performanța în domeniul Tehnologiei Informației și Comunicațiilor. \nInițiativa a fost posibilă grație colaborării dintre Oracle University și Asociația Națională a Companiilor din Domeniul TIC\, a cărei scop este asigurarea accesului actualilor și viitorilor specialiști TIC din Moldova la cele mai relevante cursuri de instruire și oportunități de certificare internațională.

This event is the most dynamic and exciting entrepreneurial competition\, which has ranked the Republic of Moldova as part of the global program along with over 70 states from all over the world. This year’s edition had been organised online in the context of the digitalization of entrepreneurship becoming a vital trend for post-pandemic survival. \nRespiro is a platform that aims to offer free psychological counselling online through secure video chats. Therefore the discussions between the psychologist and the client will take place in a secure environment offering maximum confidentiality. The service offered by Respiro can be accessed in Romanian and Russian for those located abroad. \nAna Niculăeș\, representative of the Respiro project: “Winning the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic begins with each of us\, therefore\, the psychological support is extremely important during this period. Nowadays\, more and more people are tempted by contradictory emotions caused by the period of uncertainty we are going through\, and Respiro aims to offer free psychological counselling during the pandemic. We aim to promote our idea through a series of free webinars in dedicated groups on social networks\, but also through various collaboration projects with associations activating in the diaspora. Those who would like to benefit from this service will have to fill in a file to keep track of the monthly subscription.” \n  \nBehind the idea of ​​Respiro\, which aligns with one of the objectives of the World Health Organization\, are three young enthusiasts: Ana Niculăeș\, psychologist\, Alex Vulpea\, developer\, and Ion Ceban\, marketing specialist. To implement the project idea\, 48 psychologists have shown their willingness to offer free online consultations and about 20 people in the diaspora from the UK\, France\, Spain\, Italy\, and Canada have already shown interest in testing these services. \n  \nThis year’s edition of “Startup Weekend Moldova 2020”\, entitled “Techstars Online Global Startup Weekend” was organized with the support of United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Government of Sweden\, within the Tekwill Project along with partnerships with Dreamups\, Generator Hub\, and Cawsay Show. \n  \nAna Chirița\, Tekwill Project Director stated: “Startup Weekend Moldova” has already become an emblematic event for the entire IT community and a representative for Tekwill Project\, an important player in strengthening the startup ecosystem in the country\, contributing to accelerating the development of small businesses in IT and creating development opportunities of entrepreneurship in Moldova\, through various relevant programs. This year’s edition was in line with global trends and took the form of a practical exercise in developing solutions to combat the pandemic. Inițiativa OMT constă într-un apel de a crea soluții care ar putea contribui la refacerea rapidă a industriei. Campania se desfășoară în contextul în care\, la nivel global\, sectorul turismului se confruntă cu cele mai mari pierderi cauzate de COVID-19. În Moldova campania este susținută de Agenția de Investiții și mediul asociativ\, reprezentat de Proiectul TEKWILL. \nRodica Verbeniuc\, director general\, Agenția de Investiții: „Suntem convinși că regândirea strategiilor și proceselor de activitate prin intermediul soluțiilor digitale ne-ar ajuta să facem față provocărilor din domeniu și să reanimăm sectorul turistic. Prin activitățile întreprinse\, Republica Moldova a fost singura țara dintre membrele OMT care a făcut parteneriat cu mediul asociativ pentru a promova inițiativa globală. Am încurajat participarea la nivel național\, odată ce platforma nu doar va identifica cele mai viabile soluții cu posibilitatea replicării acestora în diverse țări\, dar și deschide șanse de vizibilitate și afirmare internațională pentru cei înscriși”. \nAna Chirița\, directoare\, Proiectul TEKWILL: „La nivel mondial digitalizarea devine un trend\, întrucât tehnologiile informaționale ajută la identificarea unor soluții inovatoare\, care să scoată din impas sectoarele importante ale economiei. Campania OMT devine astfel o oportunitate atât pentru sectorul IT\, cât și pentru cel al turismului. Ne alăturăm partenerilor noștri și susținem inițiativele IT pentru a reduce consecințele pandemiei asupra turismului și a crea noi modalități de explorare a acestui sector.” \nCampania OMT vizează startup-urile\, creatorii de soluții inovatoare\, antreprenorii din domeniul IT și cele conexe turismului\, care au idei și proiecte gata de a fi implementate și ar putea contracara efectele epidemiei de COVID-19 asupra sectorului ospitalier. Astfel\, proiectele selectate vor intra într-un booklet digital spre distribuție către 150 + ministere din lume\, iar prezentarea ideilor va fi susținută în cel mai inovativ spațiu – școala internațională de business IE University WOW Room\, cu participarea Secretarului General al OMT\, Zurab Pololikashvili. Câștigătorii selectați vor intra în cea mai notorie comunitate inovativă OMT (UNWTO Innovation Network) care enumeră peste 5000 startup-uri în turism\, 930 corporații\, 300 instituții publice\, 50 instituții educaționale\, 30 incubatoare și 200 investitori. \n  \nPROIECTE PENTRU IMPULSIONAREA TURISMULUI LA NIVEL LOCAL\nCele 4 proiecte propuse de țara noastră au venit din partea reprezentanților „Medical Tourism Review”\, „Hai la țară”\, „Visit.md” și „Teleportravel”. \nVisit.md este reprezintă o platformă de tururi virtuale 3D prin care turiștii pot cunoaște diverse locuri din țară. \nAnton Perkin\, fondator Visit.md: „Proiectul cu care am aplicat la campania lansată de Organizația Mondială a Turismului permite doritorilor să viziteze online diferite obiective turistice\, fără a-și pune în pericol viața și sănătatea. Pe lângă faptul că pot vedea tururi virtuale\, aceștia pot avea acces și la un ghid care să le povestească în timp real despre locația respectivă. Tururile nu sunt video-uri obișnuite\, ci oferă posibilitatea de a parcurge itinerarul dorit și de a vedea aceste locuri la 360 de grade.” \nO altă idee propusă este platforma Teleportravel\, prin intermediul căreia oamenii pot accesa destinații neexplorate și itinerare unice\, create de alți turiști. \nStas Balaur\, fondator Teleportravel: „Vrem ca prin intermediul platformei Teleportravel\, care conține un ghid online și messenger\, să oferim posibilitatea oricărui turist ca după încheierea călătoriei să poată împărtăși experiențele sale turistice și altor doritori\, în același timp câștigând bani din asta. Proiectul presupune clasificarea tematică a itinerariilor turistice\, pentru ca iubitorii de păsări să viziteze locuri în care pot vedea păsări\, amatorii de pescuit să cunoască locuri unde pot pescui etc.” \nȘi „Hai la țară” este o soluție inovatoare pentru reanimarea turismului. Acesta este un marketplace online cu diferite destinații\, activități și evenimente ușor de accesat. Proiectul presupune valorificarea locurilor și experiențelor mai puțin cunoscute\, dar interesante\, inclusiv pentru localnici. \nAlex Gutsaga\, fondator „Hai la țară”: „După carantină oamenii își vor dori un respiro\, iar pe această platformă pot găsi oferte pentru o serie de activități de olărit alături de copii\, pentru a crea propriul set de vase din lut\, pe care ulterior să-l ia acasă sau să-l dăruiască bunicii și să aibă o activitate cu impact emoțional. De asemenea\, în Moldova sunt peste 1000 de bazine private neuitilizate\, care ar putea fi folosite de grupuri mai restrânse. Noi trebuie să ajutăm oamenii să cunoască aceste locuri și să aibă acces la evenimente și activități interesante.” \nO altă platformă inovatoare dedicată turismului medical este cea elaborată de Medical Tourism Review\, care conectează oamenii la spitale din toată lumea\, oferindu-le informații pentru a-și găsi tratamentul cel mai potrivit. \nSergiu Nagailic\, co-fondator Medical Tourism Review: „Instrumentul nostru poate fi folosit pentru consultații de tip text\, audio sau video. Multe spitale de stat sunt în carantină și chiar dacă unele spitale nu sunt\, există un risc sporit ca pacienții sa fie infectați cu COVID-19. Telemedicina va permite ca mulți pacienți să se consulte cu medicii\, fără să părăsească confortul propriei locuințe.” \nProiectul Tekwill se implică cu prioritate în mobilizarea comunității IT prin susținerea mai multor inițiative menite să reducă consecințelor pandemiei de Covid-19. După anul 2000\, asemenea situații au dus la crearea și ascensiunea unor afaceri online de renume\, iar aceste exemple ne conving că în noua realitate\, cauzată de pandemia COVID-19\, startup-urile IT devin o soluție\, atât pentru depășirea provocărilor actuale\, cât și pentru combaterea crizei economice. \nDin acest considerent\, „Startup Weekend Moldova 2020”\, cea mai dinamică competiție antreprenorială oferă participanților oportunitatea de a pune bazele unui un start-up în doar 3 zile și să beneficieze de suportul mentorilor și al experților naționali și internaționali\, pentru a crea produse și servicii inovatoare anti-criză. Ediția din acest an va avea loc în contextul în care tot mai multe companii conștientizează faptul că digitalizarea antreprenoriatului este vitală pentru supraviețuirea în nouă realitate\, dar și ca urmare a pandemiei cauzate de COVID-19. Currently\, ATIC and the Tekwill Project are aligning their efforts to prevent the spread of the virus but also to reduce the consequences of the pandemic caused by COVID-19\, through the #AntiVirusAction initiative. This initiative calls on all members of the ICT community to strengthen their efforts to limit the spread of the virus and mitigate the economic impact on society. \n  \nDONATIONS AND SUPPORT FOR SOCIAL PROJECTS\nSeveral ICT companies in Moldova have come together to support social projects. Due to this involvement\, many Moldovan students can continue their studies with their teachers via distance learning\, companies are benefiting from IT systems for free\, citizens are enjoying more access to digital services and products for free\, vulnerable families are receiving food donations\, and medical staff is being assisted in their efforts to fight the pandemic\, among others. \n  \n1 DAY FROM SALARY FOR DOCTORS FROM MOLDOVA\nThe #AntiVirus initiative is also a call for solidarity to support and encourage doctors and medical staff as they are one of the most vulnerable groups during this time. As an example in leading this support\, the ATIC and Tekwill project teams have donated a one-days salary to support the medical teams. \n  \nCAUSES TO SUPPORT WITH A DONATION\nDuring this time anyone who wants to get involved can contribute with donations to the following: \n\nThe fund launched by the Government of the Republic of Moldova for the prevention and control of COVID-19\, the banking details can be found here.\nMAD-Aid charity fund\, which has launched its first social initiative “Together For You” has already collected 4\,000\,000 lei in two weeks from direct financial donations\, ten tons of food\, hygiene products\, protective equipment\, medical equipment and more. This group initiative was started by three people – Victoria Dunford\, the founder of the well-known charitable organization MAD – Aid; Ana Racu\, a professional in the field of human rights defense and UN ambassador in Moldova for the prevention of torture; and Anatol Untura\, an IT entrepreneur. Together with the Government of the Republic of Moldova\, the “Together For You” team intends to organize a charter trip to China next week to procure more medical equipment and other necessities to cover the country’s needs for one month.

DESCRIPTION:  \nInnovative IT solutions can help reduce COVID-19 illnesses. A group of volunteers and experts in the IT sector have developed an online application called the Medcast chatbot\, which fulfills several functions in the format of telemedicine and is intended for human health care\, by monitoring potential symptoms of illness. Moreover\, the online solution contains useful information about quarantine conditions\, advice on personal care and housing and also offers users the opportunity to notify their family doctor if they suspect that they have specific symptoms of COVID-19. \nThe online application was developed by a working group that included nine IT specialists\, but also representatives of the Ministry of Health\, Labor and Social Protection\, doctors\, and professors from the medical departments of universities. The chatbot was also developed with the support of the Tekwill Project which contributes to creating opportunities for entrepreneurship development in Moldova\, including facilitating access to resources and creating necessary connections. The idea for the project came after the “Hack the Virus” hackathon in March\, where several solutions to combat COVID-19 were identified. \nAna Chirița\, director of TEKWILL Project stated\, “Our goal is to seek for ways to reduce and even solve problems through information technologies. After participating in the organization of the online hackathon “Hack the Virus”\, where representatives of the medical sector were involved\, we understood that the most appropriate solutions are those for prevention and pre-diagnosis. Thus\, after the hackathon\, a team of developers launched this product – the result of several meetings with representatives of the health sector\, and together with them developed this chatbot format – the most suitable for the needs of the population. That is why\, together with the team\, we decided to develop the Medcast Chatbot – an online application that can be easily used by anyone\, especially because most people use the Viber and Telegram platforms daily for communication. Formulas for diagnosing COVID-19 symptoms are approved by the Ministry of Health\, therefore\, the application is an extremely useful tool for doctors fighting on the front lines\, but also for local authorities\, and this way we could identify certain cases of disease in advance. We want the chatbot to be used by as many people as possible\, and thus\, to reduce the number of illnesses.” \nThe purpose of the Medcast chatbot is to help users make a pre-diagnosis and to monitor their symptoms if they are under monitoring with the reporting of data to the family doctor. Additionally\, it also provides useful information regarding the rules imposed during the state of emergency and quarantine. \nThe Medcast chatbot is available for Viber and Telegram applications\, and it will soon be available for use on Facebook. \n  \nThe application has the following functions: \n\nPre-diagnosis of COVID-19 which is performed by the chatbot in accordance with the protocol of the Ministry of Health. Thus\, users must answer 18 questions about their personal health;\nReporting the results to their family doctor which are possible after a user registers on the platform;\nIf the condition of one of the users who shows symptoms related to COVID-19 suddenly worsens the application offers the possibility of immediate reporting to the 112 service;\nIf after the pre-diagnosis a high risk of infection is identified\, then the user will receive alert messages once every 2 hours to report their temperature\, headache\, coughing or sneezing and other symptoms;\nInformation on the quarantine and self-isolation regime in the context of the pandemic;\nContact information for family physician centers across the country\, including addresses and telephone numbers;\nInformation on the official statistics of the number of patients with COVID-19 in the Republic of Moldova\, including the districts in the region but also globally.\n\nThis IT solution is also functional for the representatives of the health system\, who after registering online on behalf of their professional status\, can collect information from the patients under monitoring and download the reports on patients’ health. \n  \nAbout the Tekwill Project \nThe Tekwill project is implemented by the National Association of ICT Companies with the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Sweden. Tekwill was created in 2017 as a Center of Excellence of the ICT sector in Moldova\, with the main purpose of aligning the field with current market requirements. Aiming to contribute to increasing the competitiveness of the IT industry and other strategic sectors of the economy\, the center has expanded its fields of activity\, becoming in 2019 a complex nationwide project. SUMMARY:ICT CAREER PROMOTION CAMPAIGN “CHOOSE A CAREER IN IT”
DESCRIPTION:The campaign “Choose a Career in IT” developed and implemented by ATIC in partnership with six leading local companies in the field has currently reached around 1540 students from grades 10-12 from 25 different lyceums of Moldova from the North\, South\, and Central areas. The campaign will run between January – May 2020 and provides insights and guidance for choosing a job within the IT sector. \nThe campaign aims to communicate the benefits of embracing an IT career and provides students with the essential benchmarks regarding the opportunities and prospects of a career in IT\, career directions\, and institutions where IT studies can be pursued. During these information and career guidance sessions\, students have the opportunity to talk with experienced IT professionals from ISD Moldova\, Orange\, Allied Testing\, Development Aid\, Pentalog\, Salt Edge Moldova\, M-Testing (ATIC Members) and learn valuable suggestions and tips from them. \nSo far\, 45 institutions have registered to host a Career Orientation session at their facility. Registration continues as new institutions request to participate in the campaign. Students and teachers have both given positive feedback\, as they have appreciated these sessions and found them useful and highly impactful in making future research about higher education choices easier. It also enabled a great way for students to interact with specialists from the IT domain\, which has been beneficial in the rural areas of Moldova since this type of activity is typically difficult to acquire. \nAs the campaign had planned to run through May 2020 its aim was to visit 100 educational institutions and to reach approximately 6\,000 students about their future career and higher education options in Moldova\, mainly in the ICT industry. \nHowever\, since March 11th\, regretfully this initiative has been interrupted due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The sessions in schools will resume once the restrictions are lifted. \nImpact: Out of 45 registered educational institutions to host a Career Orientation session at their facility\, 25 lyceums have already hosted information sessions\, while the rest have postponed for Autumn 2020. \nThe ICT Career Orientation sessions have been organized by ATIC\, the implementing partner of the USAID and Sweden Government-funded Tekwill Project and the support of UN Women through the “Enabling Women in Tech” Project.

Today\, regional hacks are happening all across the globe\, from India to Georgia to Brazil\, and this is just the beginning! \nTalent is everywhere\, and we want to unleash it in every corner of the globe. \nWe’ve already started forming global hackathon teams combined of techies\, designers\, business leaders\, and amazingly global leaders like the former president of Estonia Toomas Henrik Ilves and recognised industry experts like Silicon Valley tech superstar Steve Jurvetson and Sam Altman have all volunteered to mentor these teams for free! \nApril 9: The Global Hack aims to connect ONE MILLION PEOPLE. \nIf we move fast enough\, this global hackathon could have a massive social and economic impact far beyond our imagination.
